Sponsor is Civil Air Patrol Florida Wing Group 5 Headquarters Office of Public Affairs, PO Box 5058, Sarasota, Florida 34277 ("Sponsor" or "CAP").

Contest is open only to current members of Civil Air Patrol Group 5 – Florida Wing. CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

The public affairs staff will screen submissions based on photo quality and composition with regards to conformity to regulation and submission criteria. Four quarterly contests will be held each year (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Aug, Sep-Dec). The top ten finalists from each quarterly contest will be automatically entered into the annual contest. Winners from each period will be formally acknowledged and winning images will be published.

1. Entries for the CAP Group 5 photo contest must depict CAP members in regulation uniform participating in CAP activities.

2. Photos must be submitted in digital format (JPEG). Try to keep image in "raw" condition to avoid loss by compressing image files. For printing, a 300 dpi format is needed. Minimum pixel resolution should be 1280 x 960. Most digital cameras allow for adjustment of file size for storage. Trying to enlarge a small file can reduce quality of image. It is better to start with a larger file. Please follow these specifications to insure image is of sufficient quality to use for publication. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this Contest. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable. Please do not digitally enhance images beyond basic adjustments to achieve realistic color, balance, and sharpness. Do not alter image by adding or removing anything. Cropping image for composition is acceptable.

3. Make sure the following information is attached to your photo:
• Date of photo
• Name of photographer
• Full name of individual(s) in image, listed left to right, and indicated as such
• Specific description of image and what is taking place
• Location of photo
• Contact information for further research. All of this information can be attached to the photo by right-clicking on the image and selecting properties from the pop up menu, and then by selecting the "summary" tab on the following window. You can enter all of the required info there and then hit "apply" and then "ok". If unable to complete this step, then submit word document with required information.

3. Deadlines are: 2359 (11:59:00 p.m.) US Eastern Time on March 31, June 30, Aug 31, and Dec 31.

4. Enteries should be submitted by email to Group 5 Public Affiars at jcarlson@flwg.us, or mailed to PO Box 5058, Sarasota, Fl 34277 with the required information listed above, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, and photo caption; and submit along with your photograph

5. The Categories for entries are: (1) CAP members (general category), (2) CAP Cadets, and (3) CAP members serving the community. Each entrant may submit entries in any Category he/she wishes and may submit entries at different times during the entry period, but no entrant may submit in total more than six (6) entries during one quarterly contest period. If an entrant exceeds any of these limits, Sponsor may at its absolute discretion select entries to go forward for judging and reject the remainder.

All photographs submitted may be used by Civil Air Patrol to educate, inform, and increase public awareness of CAP and its missions.
